I can just see it, Wrexham get a penalty and Mullin hits the bar with such power that it rebounds into his own half and Foster can't get back in time because he's posing for the documentary.

No more ridiculous than seeing us caught offside today and Woking being allowed to take the free kick two yards in our half!

Rectum 1 Yeovil 1
Probably wishful thinking on my part but Yeovil are the league's draw specialists having managed 19 in total this season with 9 of those coming away from home.
Rectum were held 1-1 when they visited Yeovil so I think it could be a closer game than their respective league positions suggest.
With Yeovil really needing a win it's going to be a fascinating game. Come on you Glovers.

Wrexham haven't gone two back to back games without winning since August.
Can't see them not winning Tuesday but I'd take us still having a better GD at the end of the night and hoping BW can get something there next Saturday. Anything could then happen on the final day, assuming we get our expected win at Maidstone.

Much as it would be great to see Yeovil taking points from Wrexham I can’t see anything other than a comfortable win for the Welshmen.

Wrexham 6 Yeovil 1 (Mullin 4 x penalties, Palmer, 1 x og). Yeovil finish with 9 men and Mark Cooper sent to the stands where he engages in a spot of playful head butting with Parky.

Maybe a bit off topic, but goal difference got me thinking after Man U stuffed our beloved neighbours. I've never been one of those "why are we bothered about Forest?" types, I always love it when they lose. Just checked the goal difference for both teams, and it's +104 in our favour!!!!
They've scored a pathetic 24 and conceded 56, we've scored an amazing 111 and conceded 39. That means in both our games I've celebrated 167 times and been disappointed 63 times. I'm well aware of the difference in levels, but to me a goal is a goal. I enjoy National League goals just as much as I did Division 1 (Premiership) goals.

Man U had a lot of players missing, yet a 6-0 win wouldn't have flattered them. Forest were U/S and didn't even register a shot on goal. They now seem to depend on bootball, corners and long throw-ins for their goals. It was a tragic yet thoroughly enjoyable watch.

Absolute tosh, the level always matters, a goal scored against say Man City is just sweeter than a goal scored against wealdstone , we will of course say that as we are NL, but i doubt any clubs in the PL would be excited if they fell to the NL

Maybe to you but hopefully never, ever to me. The moment the ball hits the back of the net it's pure celebration if it's in your favour, and abject disappointment if it's against you. If I ever get to the stage where I sit and clap politely rather than leap in the air in celebration (not easy at my age) because Sam Austin gave us the lead because it's only Wealdstone, I'll know it's time to give up.

However many Cooper will park the bus to try and get another feather in his cap as he did at Meadow Lane knowing too well they're going down. If I had some straws I'd be clutching them right now XD

I've just reminded myself of Mark Cooper's record as Notts manager and it's pretty dismal for the 10 games he was in charge.
IIRC he totally lost interest towards the end of his tenure maybe because he fell out with the owner Ray Trew or maybe because he was getting ready to jump ship to Forest Green Rovers.
Whatever, my point is that IMHO he owes us one so I really hope that's coming with Yeovil's performance at Rectum tomorrow.
I predict a draw.
Yes I know that's wildly optimistic with the Welshmen's home form but I didn't think they looked brilliant against Barnet on Saturday and remember Yeovil have drawn 19 games this season. Yes 19.
A lot of Rectum's newer fans seem to think the title is just a formality now and maybe it is but even a win tomorrow doesn't make it mathematically certain.
If Notts are destined for the playoffs then, if they can play as they did in the second half against Woking on Saturday we should be OK.

Next month will be the 10th anniversary of Yeovil winning the League One Play off final against Brentford (having dumped out Sheff Utd in the semi-finals). Bournemouth and Notts were in the same league as Yeovil that season also.
So in 10 years Yeovil will be going from welcoming Fword, Leicester and Derby to Huish Park in 2013/14 to staging games against Taunton, Chippenham and Tonbridge in 2023/24.
Another example, like Scunny, of just how swiftly a club's football landscape can completely change.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer club. I was there at the FA Cup match vs my local non-league side Haringey Borough when the match got abandoned due to alleged racist abuse of Haringey's players. Whether anything racist was actually said or not (they dispute this), what's not in doubt is the amount of abuse and throwing of missiles there was towards Haringey's black goalkeeper, which went well beyond "banter". To behave like this at an amateur club who were excited about the prospect of drawing a big league club is despicable in my opinion. I hope they get a flukey win over Wrexham of course, but happy for them to be relegated after that.

I think most people put their hopes on Boreham Wood and Torquay but seeing Torquay capitulate against Chesterfield, I think we probably need to accept it's playoffs

In all fairness, I think I accepted playoffs a while back. With regards to the playoffs, the signing of Dallas, as I said when it happened, is a real game changer for chesterfield. I’ve gone from being completely confident of winning the playoffs to not…quite…so… sure.

I’m ****ing bobbing myself now tbh.

Dorking and Gateshead both now safe - good effort by both teams

Oh well, pretty simple formula now.

If Wrexham win one of their last two games they get the automatic place.

If they draw both and we win our last two, we get the automatic place.

I dip in to other forums and Dallas has taken some stick on Chesterfields board over the last few weeks. Apparently been disappointing.
I wouldn’t get carried away with Chesterfield thrashing Torquay. Chesterfields main issue is consistency.

Yeovil not scoring at Wrexham well i'll be damned.

3 clear goals all day, every day.

Happy Mullin only scored one and it was last goal.

Hoping for a Boreham Wood win on Saturday now. They'll be more of a challenge and it's at BW. If we win that'll make for an exciting last day indeed :D

Hat trick for Dallas

It was against Torquay though, hardly a challenge for a quality striker. We beat them 4-0 at home without breaking sweat.

That's all we can hope for. Notice Torquay took a thrumping, still only 3 pts from safety though. IF by some miracle it does go to the last day, maybe they can do us a favour?

BW still need points to secure a play off spot , Torquay could still stay up going into the next game , hopefully the same when they play Wrexham .
The fat lady might be gargling but she ain't spit it out yet ( ohhh matron)

Well my external optimism was misplaced. Wrexham really aren't playing very well and their fans are going off each game.
How the hell we had one of our worst team performances of the season against them, I don't know.
Let's hope we keep the pressure on them for the last two games.

So how many will be at Wembley when we beat Chesterfield there?

Poor night tonight, but at least they haven’t taken over on goal difference if it comes down to that.

Chesterfield getting their sh!t together doesn’t bode well though.

Especially the scary way we play at the back. I'm having visions of all our hard work this season going down the pan

Maybe they were good rather than us being bad.

We didn't play well because they didn't allow us to play well.

If it does come down to goal difference, we finish top whatever the scores.

The only way we can finish level on points is for Wrexham to draw two and us to win two, or Wrexham to lose two and us to get a win and a draw. We already have a better goal difference, so in both cases it would only get better.

They have to draw twice so their goal difference wouldn’t be any better than it is now. We have to win twice, so our goal difference would be at least two better than it is now. Our goal difference is currently better than theirs, so if we end up on the same points, our goal differences will be better than theirs.

So it is, maybe the extra pressure from the home crowd will get to them. BW still need the points to try and claim a home QF though.

And Torquay may well need points on the last day. It's not like we need Rectum to lose, just draw both matches will do. But mehhh, it'll be what it'll be. I'd like it to go to the last day, but we'll see in due course.
