Correct team for me. Joelinton is my guy but he hasn’t looked his fierce heat this year. Barnes opposite Gordon is a great test for Brentford’s defense. We can Allie them to run with our squeaky tight 4 defense to last year’s positions. 3-0 NUFC.

Funny about Anderson for me as well but I played and coach a lot of hockey and youth soccer—there are those players who just have the presence to be in the right place at the right time and it makes them productive without the greatest talent on the rink/pitch. He just seems to make things happen. Week in. Week out…we’ll find out.

Shocking refereeing. Brentford had more control over the midfield. Newcastle ball retention is been poor.

Our defense has been rocky all half but (very slowly) we seem to be growing into the game. Just need to keep it up. One golden chance each, first half and Bruno’ s was a brilliant (lucky?) save.
Really need a goal to get the confidence going - Brentford are dangerous. Should be a good second half.

The only way the refereeing will improve is by suing through PGMOL for all the millions lost by their bad decisions.

They have to know their bad decision have heavy financial consequences or they'll keep getting away with this garbage.

Well aye, exactly...was it a clear and obvious error? VAR said they weren't going to re-referee game but that's exactly what they've done there.

Technically the correct decision but the 'clear and obvious' part is too unclear and open to far too much subjectivity-and bias...

Yeah - that was one of those games we drew at home last season. Not a great display but a great result from a very physical game. Barnes MOM for me.
I think the goal was correctly chalked off (- I thought Wilson pulled the keeper’s arm). I thought our penalty goal was the right decision and I still don’t understand why we didn’t get the second penalty: hand in unnatural position and if it hadn’t hit his hand it was a tap in for Wilson.

We played Brucieball in the first half, no threat at all, better in the second half but they need to press more like last season. They'll get better when Willock and Joelinton are back.

We rested a lot of players of big Match in Milan on Tuesday.
Fans have been asked too see Gordon and Barnes on the pitch at the same time. We got to see that.
Wilson got his start, which again a lot of fans were calling out for & he delivered by winning us the match.

So positives to take away with the 3 points.

All in all a decent weekend & we're on track to match last seasons form with a better goal difference.

The sun is shining on the big river, our local heroes are playing a happy tune.
