The lad's not playing, loaning him out makes serious sense.

Far too injury prone loan then sell.

I thought he wasn't playing because he was injured, in which case he won't be going out on loan.

He's recovered but Vinny does not fancy him to play for us.

Same goes for BPF, Dodgson, Egan Riley, McNally, Bastien, Weghorst, Twine, Churlinov, & Costelloe.

Can someone please tell me just WTF is going on?

Can't say there's any of that lot I'd particularly want playing for us either.

Begs the question, Who's in charge of recruitment ?....

AI..?

Edit... I have heard Pace has a penchant for using software to scan for available players...
Who's to say he hasn't aquired the software off some shady character with a pencil moustach, zoot suit and fedora,
and the algorithm only selects players not suited to the EPL....

Note....Did I just describe Malcolm Allison then...?

Six of those named players were signed under VK's watch. Why sign them if they are not going to feature?

He's using the Post Office software algorithm and we all know how that ends. :s

Because we have to run a squad of at least 25 in the PL, which means many players at Burnley, and at every PL club, not featuring. You might as well ask why Pep signed Kalvin Phillips, why Ian Maatsen has never featured for Chelsea, why did Forest take Divock Origi on loan from Milan ?

As for Obafemi, he may be fit in that he's not on the injured list, but he's not match fit or he'd be getting minutes with us. I doubt he's even close to match fit, maybe he never will be, and any club taking him on loan would be taking a huge risk, such a risk that I just cannot imagine any club wanting to take him. I suspect we're lumbered with him.

We will do a deal on his wages because he needs game time. He will be gone somewhere soon, he's an Eire international FFS!

But how much game time will it take to have him back on the injured list ? If I was looking for a loan player this window I'm sure I could find better bets than Obafemi. One that could actually play a full game for instance, when did Obafemi last do that ? Has he ever done that ?

Calling mein freund! I'm sure he was a regular starter at Swansea?

On the few occasions I have actually seen the lad play he looks a decent footballer but IMHO I don't think he has the necessary credentials for the EPL.

Getting him fully match fit would certainly help.

Check out you tube BT on his performances for Southampton in the premiership previously.

Well, this does not make good reading at all as far as I am concerned.
He came on as a sub for Southampton in the 82 nd minute against Spurs in January 2018.
Since then in league and cup football but excluding Internationals he has made 107 appearances but started only 47 matches. Of those starts, 33 were for Swansea where he also made 19 sub appearances and scored 14 goals betwween August 2021 and July 2023 when he came to the Clarets. The last time he played a full game was on 29 October 2022 for Swansea at Bristol City.
He has started only one game for the Clarets in the FA Cup against Fleetwood.
He played a total of 280 minutes last season and has made 2 sub appearances this season amounting to 19 minutes.

As far as I can tell he has spent 498 days since December 2018 having treatment for injuries. It seems that 322 of those days relate to hamstring injuries. The other 176 days relate to a knock from December 2020 to May 2021.All this was between Dec 2018 and May 2021.
Nobody can predict injuries and he reamined injury free from May 2021 until his latest one came when on International duty back in June 2023 but that meant he was having treatment, before coming on as a sub in November, for 143 days.

Quite a sad tale really with so little game time in just over 5 years.

We do seem to be specialising in recruiting players with fitness issues - mental and physical.

Clear out required this summer.

Get shut of the lot of them, with the Manager and coaching staff the 1st through the door.

All the dross still under contract then need loaning out

I like this 'no fecking about' approach, clear the lot out and then start again with the management dream team of Joey and Big Dunc in charge, Colin as Head Coach and Fat Sam Technical Director. At least we wouldn't go down without a fight.

There's hope yet. Just watched a pulsating Roses derby in which Dirty Weeds nicked a late 2-1 win courtesy of a soft penalty.

Who ran back 30 yards at full speed to prevent a late Bamford strike from going goal bound?

None other than "Sicknote Brady". The wonders of medical science.

My post 13, 'he's not match fit'.
TeamTalk, 'so that he can regain match fitness'.

But it doesn't take a genius to work it out, if you haven't played a full game in well over a year, you're not going to be match fit, it's self evident. TeamTalk doesn't mention any of the clubs that are supposedly interested in signing him. My guess would be that's because there aren't any.

The way it’s going we’ll have more out on loan than we will in the first team. If any club needs a player , they can just come to us. We have players all over the park available. The recruitment policy must be the worst in the football league.

Last season we recruited, virtually from scratch, a team that was described as the best the Championship had seen in 25 years. This summer. the recruitment was shambolic. I have no idea why it went from one extreme to the other, it really is bizarre.

This is why I never have and never will worry about anything relating to football, except when I was actually playing or officiating.
Clubs do what they want, when they want and we, as fans, have no control over anything, even though we like to think that our voices and opinions are heard.

The problem with this BT is that true fans don't do that they just suffer in silence.

If you did not like the quality you were getting from ASDA you may change to TESCO, but I can't imagine any true Claret switching to Blackburn Rovers, it would be unthinkable.
