Charlton lose again at the Valley as the away side, this time Bristol City, find a way to play through the midfield. Bristol City were bouyed by the appointment of legendary manager Roy Hodgson and it paid off in his first game in charge.

Twine scored for City early in the first half. Max Bird supplied the assist as Lloyd Jones tried to win back possession for a tackle.

The Add1cks equalised shortly after. Some clever interplay between Lyndon Dykes and Charlie Kelman, enabled Dykes to guide the ball across the goal and off the far post into the back of the net.

Early in the second half Eile recovered City's lead tapping in the goal after Mannion fumbled Twine's low free kick. Despite this, Mannion had saved many efforts on goal.

Then as is now customary in these games, Charlton had a spate of chances; Sonny Carey shot wide of goal, Vitek the City GK, made two good saves from Ibrahim Fullah and Matty Godden. Despite some more chances from TC, Dykes, Rankin-Costello and Godden dragging a shot wide, none of them were made to count.

The Add1cks travel to Watford on Easter Monday for another tricky fixture and will need a point or two to try and cement their stay in the Championship for next season.

Pick of the Players: Matty Godden - came close to showing what he is capable of.

Charlton goal: Dykes 30

Bristol City goals: Twine 11, Eile 55

I was in the East Stand for this defeat against Norwich and the score looks much closer than the game actually was. Norwich played a very appealing passing game and made their possession count. Their goal on five minutes came from a powerful Pelle Mattsson shot from distance really giving Mannion no chance.

The Add1cks didn't play at all well in the first half and Norwich ran the midfield show. Sonny Carey had a chance on 26 minutes but his shot was easily dealt with by the Canaries defence, Mannion made a few more good saves.

Things really improved for the Add1cks in the second half with TC moving to left wing back. He was cutting down the channels and putting in the crosses for others. It's patently clear this is the position where TC needs to play from the start.

One TC cross fell to Kayne Ramsay who headed just shy of the crossbar. Harry Clarke, one of our more influential players, had a shot blocked. A penalty appeal was waved away by the ref when Lloyd Jones was pulled to the ground in the box by Ruairi McConville. TC continued as provider when his cross was headed over the goal by Clarke.

Mannion had made a double save in the interim as the Canaries broke on the counter. Sonny Carey then had a couple of chances, but neither found the back of the net.

It was definitely an inspiring performance 2nd half but the players really need to start games better. The subs I felt came on far too late. Certainly Charlie Kelman should have come on far earlier. He may have even scored given the opportunity but 8 minutes is no where near enough time.

I don't think I'll sit in the East Stand next time. It was a good view but support for the team was very muted and when players did the right things they were barely applauded. West Stand next time for me I think.

Norwich goal: Mattsson 5

Pick of the Players: Will Mannion

Charlie Kelman scored a penalty in stoppage time to earn the Add1cks a point in a game of two penalties. Seven points from Boro, Birmingham and Oxford is a fairly decent return. Though the team will need a few more wins to ensure Championship survival for another season.

There weren't many chances in this game. Lyndon Dykes had to drop out at the start due to illness, Miles Leaburn replaced him. In the first half a Greg Docherty cross was comfortably saved by the Oxford GK Jamie Cumming.

In the second half Conor Coventry headed wide from a Harry Clarke throw. The referee spotted a foul on Will Lankshear by Kayne Ramsay and awarded a penalty to Oxford, scored by their Captain Brannagan.

Up until stoppage time, Charlton did not create much but then Kelman scored from the penalty spot after Ciaran Brown pulled back Lloyd Jones, to make the score 1 - 1.

Oxford goal: Brannagan 57 (pen)

Charlton goal: Kelman 90+3 (pen)

The Add1cks recorded a stunning 1 - 0 win against near table toppers Middlesbrough Wednesday night at the Riverside Stadium.

Conor Coady was the match hero scoring the only goal in the second half as the Add1cks yet again defended manfully to keep another clean sheet.

Boro had the lions share of chances and possession in both halves and played as a team on the verge of promotion to the Premier League. But for all their dominance, they were unable to make any shots on target count, even their player Targett was off target on the night.

Conor Coventry, Greg Docherty and Sonny Carey in midfield put in a shift as did the defence of Gough, Coady, Gillesphey and Clarke. Not forgetting the subs who played their part.

Early on Charlton's best chances were on the counter attack; Harry Clarke lined up Charlie Kelman whose shot at a tight angle was kept out by Boro goalie Brynn.

Coady's goal came from an expertly taken Clarke long throw-in from the right. Coady was able to guide the ball past Brynn into the Boro goal.

Despite Middlesbrough having 78% of possession and 34 attemps on goal, the resolute defence and Mannion held firm. No one was able to find a way past him and he has had an excellent return to goal keeping duties.

Charlton goal: Coady 59

Pick of the Players: Will Mannion

A solid display and great performance with the back three putting in a shift led to this win over Birmingham. Charlie Kelman scored, as is usual with Charlton, late in the second half with a composed strike.

In the first half, Sonny Carey tested the away GK Ryan Allsopp and Greg Docherty headed on goal but again the Blues GK was equal to it.

In the second half, with 20 minutes left Kelman and Joe Rankin-Costello replaced Luke Chambers and Greg Docherty to shore up the attack and it paid dividends. Lyndon Dykes provided the assist for Kelman’s superb goal.

Birmingham then came back into the game and had a few chances of their own as they pressed forward. However the Add1cks also nearly doubled their lead when Kelman shot wide across the face of goal and Leaburn’s effort just went wide of the post before the end of play.

Charlton goal: Kelman 74

Pick of the Players: All of the back three this time Ramsay, Jones and Bell.
