Vlad has massively kicked off at the club saying he was lied to and mistreated by the club on arrival from Forrest.

He says he was promised one thing on arrival and this changed a week before the season started.

Now, he was obviously not wanted by the club and we were rolled into the deal by Forrest to help them with PSR the same way we needed help.

So, to a degree he must have surely expected some push back, equally again, it's not his fault.

We are also only getting his side of the story, so he may be getting it out there early to push the club to allow him a cheaper move to Seville to kill this story before it potentially takes hold.

However, this is the 2nd story of a broken promise (alongside Isak) that has come out of the club in last couple of seasons - which is potentially not a good look for any potential signings.

I know there is context and that it was all the old leadership but still not a brilliant look.

Thanks for everything - he will always have a special place at the club; first marquee signing after the takeover. Joined us when we were in the relegation zone.

The rest is history. Hope he returns as a coach, he?s got a good set of skills that he can hopefully pass on.

What a masterstroke, and maybe this goes some way to explain why no new stadium announcement has come out yet also.

We?ve sold St James Park to a company owned by PIF for a very healthy price, and remember we don?t own the land, just the current lease buildings ON the land.

We?ve sold the lease and buildings for 177m, leased it back for 50 years leaving a profit of ?129M and effectively cut the legs out from any protests about ?but they are going to build a new stadium?? because we have paid a tidy sum to lease it back and there has been no official announcement on a new stadium.

The PL have banned any such sales (inter-company) starting from next season, so it?s good we got the jump on this, and I wouldn?t be surprised if we don?t see other clubs doing the same? and the PL can say f**k all as they allowed Chelsea to do the same and have set a precedent for themselves 😂

I have read the reports from the latest interview our CEO has had regarding Eddie's future.

Last month he said, Eddie is our man and we back him blah blah blah

yesterday he would not comment on his long term future and instead said

Asked about Howe's future, Hopkinson said: "I don't have a stance on his future. What I can tell you is that the derby loss hurt. We take it seriously. There's nothing within us that thinks 'well, it's just three points and on we go'. I expect to have a great run to the end of the season here and we'll talk about the future when it's time.

"Right now, we're focused on this season's competition."
Pressed further as to whether he was leaving Howe's future open, he added:
"I would not frame it that way. We are not looking to make a change at the moment. We are not having those conversations.

"We are still in the midst of the season. Right now we are focused on the seven matches we have remaining and not distracting ourselves with speculation about what we may or may not do in the summer.

"Right now, all of us have only got so much bandwidth and we are focused on this season and finishing strongly."

to me it sounds like there have been discussions behind the scenes from the top brass over changing the manager.
Personally, if we fail to get Europe, i think he's gone

Newcastle Accounts

Accounts released today:

Newcastle United publish 24/25 accounts, when Club won Carabao Cup. 🔑figures
⚽️Total revenue ?335m (record) ⬆️5%
⚽️ Commercial revenue ?123m (record, adidas deal etc) ⬆️42%
⚽️ Broadcast revenue ?161m ⬇️12% (no CL)
⚽️ Wages ?243m ⬆️11%
⚽️Average weekly wage ?103k
⚽️ Wages/revenue 73% (2024 68%)
⚽️ Amortisation ?100m ⬆️3%
⚽️ Underlying loss ?107m ⬆️55%
⚽️ Sale of property to group company ?129m (perfectly legal and allowed for PSR)
⚽️ Player sale profits ?20m ⬇️72%
⚽️Pre tax profit ?35m
⚽️Player purchases ?40m
⚽️Player sales ?29m
⚽️Total cost of squad ?581m ⬇️4%
⚽️Shares issued to owners in year ?50m

Newcastle would have failed PSR had it not been for the stadium sale to themselves.

With regards to the stadium sale to ourselves, this is the general over-view:

"it?s a lever that has been pulled to avoid financial penalty which also makes sense as the new company that owns the stadium will borrow the money to fund construction of the new one so that club is not saddled with debt"

Guess this means we can't call out Villa and Chelsea anymore XD XD

At least we're beginning to play how the others play.

Don't know if others have seen this but PSG petitioned the French FA to have their league game against Lens moved, so they had a week rest break between CL games with LiVARpool. The French FA have agreed and done this, saying they want to give PSG the best chance so that French League gets same amount of CL places.

Lens are very angry about it as they are in 2nd and only a point behind PSG for the French title and obviously saw this as a great oppertunity to go 2 points clear.

Breaking news is that "Liverpool is ANGRY that the match between Lens and PSG has been rescheduled. They consider it as match-fixing and want UEFA to take measures to prevent this in the future."

Where do we stand on this, on this occassion I think I'm with LiVARpool. Leagues shouldn't be moving games around for european matches.

Again, it's super league in all but name.

Wants us to go back in for him - doing the whole regret he went to Chelsea spiel.

Oddly - the agent seems to be sacrificing himself, to a degree - saying he was the reason that Delap went there, that he as the agent pushed for it as he felt it would support Delap more etc. Delap wanted Newcastle apperently.

Obviously the agent would get another big pay off if Delap moved.

Premier League fans deliver damning verdict on VAR. 75% of 7,946 fans polled by the Football Supporters? Association ?didn?t support the use of VAR?. Too long, too forensic, too much of a joy killer, fans say. Findings shared with Premier League and PGMO.

92% of fans surveyed ?agreed? that ?VAR has removed the spontaneous joy of goal celebrations? (82% of them ?strongly agreed?).

85% of match-going fans ?strongly disagreed? with the notion that ?VAR makes watching football more enjoyable?. And 83% of those watching on TV.

85% of match-going fans ?strongly disagreed? that ?VAR decisions are generally resolved in a reasonable amount of time?. Echoed by 83% of those watching on TV.

Only 18% agreed that ?VAR has improved the overall accuracy of refereeing decisions?.

72% are ?concerned about the expansion of VAR beyond its current remit?.

79% ?strongly disagreed? with the suggestion ?that the match-going experience is better with VAR?.

67% ?strongly agreed? that they preferred ?watching games that are played without VAR to games with VAR?.

84% ?strongly support? goal-line technology.

34% ?strongly opposed? to the idea of a challenge system (two per game per team).

?These findings back up the FSA's previous survey in 2021, where fans expressed misgivings about the introduction of VAR,? says Thomas Concannon, @WeAreTheFSAPremier League network manager.
?The vast majority are reporting the same concerns five years on - the loss of spontaneity when celebrating goals, and an overall worsening of the match-going experience. We have shared the survey results with the Premier League and PGMO, and look forward to discussing its findings with them.? Fans surveyed of all PL clubs and all ages (Under-18 to 65+).

No surprises there at all.

Most of us can see VAR is often used to get the result that is wanted for certain teams.

----------

No surprises there at all.

Most of us can see VAR is often used to get the result that is wanted for certain teams.

Another addition to the Executive team.

The 100 day review findings were presented to the board and the plan going forwards was passed by unanimous vote.

People that spout all the negative nonsense regarding no plan, losing interest and all that guff need to learn a little patience, I guess.

Igor Tudor has been sacked at the spuds manager. . . shame, thought he was doing a stirling job XD XD

Hopefully the rot is in to deep and they still go down.

Dyche allegedly been contacted.

De Zerbi is who press are saying but I think he won't want to touch them till he knows what league they'll be in next season.

Also seen they may make a senior player into a player/manager for last 7 games.

Redknapp has said he is willing mind XD

🏆 Final:
Newcastle United 1-0 Manchester City

7 goals scored - 1 own goal conceded

The future is bright 🌟
---------

Muawiya Ghanem also won player of the tourament, we got him from West Brom last year - persuading him to join us over Arsenal and Chelsea.

This is def positive, get them use to winning early.

I know our academy reccently hasn't been brilliant (well for a long time) but if we can build at this level, it bodes well for us in about 5-7 years.
