Guess they could always do a swap and use the Ricoh on alternate weeks 🤣
I’ve always liked St Andrews, fantastic and atmospheric ground and a great away day.
The first time that I went to St.Andrews was when my dad took me to a rugby match there, Midland Counties against South Africa. I seem to remember a flour throwing incident over the apartheid issue. The midlands rugby grounds were considered to be too small for the expected crowd. I remember smoke coming over the stand at one end from a steam train going past! Good atmosphere in the place but it’s always been a bit ramshackle.
I remember when Wolves had two sides closed and they couldn't fill one.
Tilton Rd was a fantastic away day for fans.
The new Railway Stand is excellent but the old Tilton was my favourite.
It's a gypsy site with a gypsy curse
Never particularly liked the old St Andrews. It always seemed dark and dingy. Then again I used to know a Wolves fan who felt much the same about the old Hawthorns and told me it was referred to as the black Lubyanka. Naturally I always loved our ground but could find others a little odd sometimes eg Molinuex with the unusual looking stand, Villa Park with many things pristinely painted claret and blue. There is no place like home.
