Presumably we're not going to sign Darren Barr? My assumption is based on the premise that SM was going to decide by Saturday and we have heard nothing. Unless the situation is still unclear the club should have made some kind of brief announcement.

You are spot on Wellup4it and, as you say in another post, why did they not tell us about Lee Hollis and Euan Murray departing? These are simple facts and it would take 10 minutes to put together a short news release and issue it to the media.
Maybe Alan Burrows moving up to Chief Exec has had a large impact on the PR side but a junior with a week’s experience could deal with simple matters like telling your fans basic facts.
The PR in the last three months has been beyond amateurish. Lacking in all basic fundamentals of good communications and then they wonder why they get a low turnout – we are the paying customers – KEEP US INFORMED. It’s easy – all we want is news.
You're in a huff because nobody told you that Hollis wouldnt be back ??Quote:

I agree totally gowboy the silence is deafening coming out of fir park i have just watched an interview with mccall on stv football telling us he is hoping to bring in 2 players on loan this week the sort of thing i would expect to see on our official website as it might give fans a lift because if you only have 3600 home fans on 1st game of season then we will really be in dire straights if crowds fall away over the season as they normally do
I could understand the frustration a wee bit if you actually worked for the club, why should they tell us anything about possible signings, another post bemoaned the fact that the papers released information about the possible signing of the lad Cole...guess what...the club were advised (on this board) that this info should be kept secret to avoid alerting our opponents from possibly usurping us. The club can't win if they keep it secret ...they should tell us. If they tell us... they should keep it secret.
Why don't we have a poll to decide just how much speculation we should be fed and how much we should be able to influence the running of the club just because we feel we should be kept informed.
MFC is a business and just like any other business in the UK it has no obligation to go viral with it's in house policy and procedures just because some people would prefer it to.
Well said sir.
Theres communication and communication. I'm against speculation and confidential business, like impending transfers, being broadcast on the Official website. No one expects the club's private business to be played out very publicly on the internet. However the club could have done far more to communicate other types of news. I don't see any harm whatsoever in confirming which players have actually left the club for example. Updating player profiles is another case in point.
Presumably the Media Officer vacancy has impacted on website maintenance.
do we actually need to sign Darren Barr?, we have Ramsden,Cummings,Kerr and Reid and who better to bring the young ones on than McMannus? defo need a forward and I would suggest a right mid for competition to Ainsworth.
maybe the club are keeping quite on players since the Ryan Stevenson saga...
No we don't. What we do need though is a fast striker to play alongside John Sutton and a mobile centre back.Quote:
