Coventry v Swansea
A month to work on our defending but we were undone within a minute of our first game back as Norwich pounced on a poor defensive mistake by Latibeaudiere making a suicidal back pass to Cabango who recovered the situation to put the ball out for a corner, but Pukki was left free and unmarked at the far post from the cross to score the only goal of the game, schoolboy defending.
Next up we travel to Coventry on Saturday. It’s now 6 games without a win as we tumble down to mid-table mediocrity from a play-off position.
Perhaps we’ll play players in their correct position this time and start players with more attacking intent like Oko-Flex and Cooper, instead of passing the ball to death with Martin’s favourite first-pick players afraid to shoot and a system of play that is clearly not working. Who knows, but a reckoning is coming if this slump continues. The boring football we play is hard to watch and is making the fans restless.

Coventry 3 (Panzo 29’, Allen 47’, Gyokeres 54’)
Swansea 3 (Piroe 68’, Fulton 76’, Cullen 84’)
Swans: Steven Benda, Kyle Naughton (Allen 55’), Nathan Wood, Ben Cabango, Joel Latibeaudiere (Oko-Flex 51’), Jay Fulton (Cullen 82’), Matt Grimes (c), Jamie Paterson (Cooper 51’), Olivier Ntcham (Darling 55’), Ryan Manning, Joel Piroe.
Subs: Andy Fisher, Harry Darling, Joe Allen, Luke Cundle, Liam Cullen, Armstrong Oko-Flex, Ollie Cooper.
Our super-subs turned the game on it’s head and rescued us from a calamitous defeat. With the starting eleven on its knees 3-0 down and Coventry coasting, five of our seven subs came on and showed them how to do it. Coventry’s high press (all teams know how to play us by now) had us in disarray in the first 60’ minute shambles.
The subs came on and showed the aggression and intent that was missing and turned the game in our favour.
Lesson learnt?

“I thought for the last half an hour we were incredible, so I am really grateful for that last 30 minutes.
But I am really hurt by the first 60 minutes.”

Turned the radio off and went out when we were 3-0 down. Couldn’t believe the score when I came back.
Surely Cooper and Oko-Flex should be starting games and with Allen getting more minutes.
Paterson is too weak and Ntcham is better used as a sub, he’s not a 90 minute player.
Our defence looks weak and we are still wide open on the flanks.

Martin not a happy man
“the energy at the top end of the pitch, the willingness to run and sacrifice yourself to make space for others, and the reaction to losing the ball, all stuff we have worked on, was nowhere near acceptable“

Looks like this team need to be behind before they wake up and start to fight back. Shocking defending for the goals, what do they do in training.
The subs were better and should have started. He needs to pick players in form and with attacking intent like Cooper, Oko-Flex and Allen.
We badly need some wing-backs in the transfer window.
Latibeaudiere, Sorinola, Ogbeta and Stevens can go to make way for incomings.
