Soucek and West Ham win red card appeal

So once again, the VAR situation has been made to look incompetent. Mr Dean, one of our most experienced referees is an embarrassment, giving a wrong decision, that we all knew would be overturned on appeal. I’m no big fan of Moyes or West Ham, but on this occasion I was really pleased that this decision was the correct one in the end.
What happens to Mr Dean now ? Does he get a warning or told off by the FA for making a cock up ? He , or any of his refereeing associates surely have to maintain a degree of common sense throughout, but it looked to me ,as though that factor was severely lacking.
What hope have we got for the future ,with decisions like this keep getting made ?
