Swansea v West Brom
After the disappointing draw at Hull, unfortunately we enter into our final match of the season with nothing to play for but pride and extending our unbeaten run to nine games.
There was a surprising lack of urgency from the players at Hull considering we were still in with a chance of reaching the play-offs and we were 1-0 down after 3 minutes, Latibeaudiere failing to cover their young left winger Vaughan from crossing the ball into the box which led to an own goal from Cabango. Cundle equalised on 38 minutes after a through ball from Paterson but we couldn’t find the winner in a game of very few chances, one on target from Hull and two on target from Swans.
West Brom are the opposition at the Swansea.com Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday May 8 at 15:00, and they still have a chance of reaching the play-offs after beating Norwich at the Hawthorns 2-1 last Saturday.
One final push from the Swans then, in front of a home crowd, to get the win and 3 points to finish as high as we can in the table. In a season where we had a disastrous run of 20 odd games with only 3 wins, it’s a case of what might have been had we not thrown away so many points with a stuttering system and a stubborn manager. Once we tweaked tactics and reverted to a back-four the wins started coming again. Good luck to the Swans.

What a match that was, both teams going flat out attacking football in front of a capacity crowd and the Sky cameras.
Baggies took the lead twice but Cundle and Ntcham goals ensured we bounced back each time.
Deep into injury time Piroe was the hero with a great free kick to seal the win and the three points, despite us going up against the biased refereeing from Stroud.
Just short of a play-off spot then, so mixed emotions, on the one hand proud of the 9 match unbeaten run, 7 of those wins, to end the season in style, on the other hand only three points short of the last play-offs which is disappointing.

It was a fitting end to the season boys, home win and big crowd, loved it.
Result could have gone either way but Piroe’s free kick settled it right at the end. Maybe the last time we see Piroe in a Swans shirt.
How do we replace a 20 goals a season player with a tiny budget?
A lot of turmoil and strife to come this close season methinks with out of contract and loanee departures and many in last year of contracts including Head-Coach and Staff.
Every season now it’s like this with these owners, sell anything that moves and start all over again, building a squad with peanuts that will be competitive, very frustrating

Iolo, the dream of a PL return with these owners is just that, a dream.
They are not willing to speculate to get back there and ironically that is the only way they’ll get their money back.
Five seasons have passed since they took us down and a return is further away than ever.
They’ve sold countless players, probably the highest number in the EFL, how do they expect to get promotion doing that?
They’d sell the kitchen sink if they could, even Alan Curtis’ kettle is not safe.
