We have stopped scoring goals. Until recently we had been scoring goals for fun, but over the past few games our ability to score freely has dried up. Start scoring again and we could still grab second spot, albeit unlikely.
The question is, what has gone wrong and is it down to a significant factor that I have not spotted?
I think most teams realised we were scoring goals for fun, now any team that plays us just play with 10 men behind the ball, like Chris Martin said if we can get an early goal teams have to open up a bit more, it's then we can pick them off! Sounds easy but getting that early goal is the problem.

yes, watching last 2 home games, both teams came for a point putting up to 8 players behind the ball. we couldn't break them down. on the counter attack we lack speed,hence we get the ball and pass backwards. Goals will come again, balls just not running for us at the moment in the box.;D
Full backs and wingers need to work together more effectively, they are often in each others way, ie Dawkins plays too close to Forsyth rather than moving to draw defenders and open up space for him. Even worse on the other side.
When Hughes plays, keep him further up the pitch pulling the strings, such a waste when he plays so deep.
Mac needs to be more radical, sooner with his subs, just as he was when he first took over.
