Is it time the old girl was laid to rest?
When I visit the new modern surroundings at the NYS ( still in awe) I cannot resist a look across at the old girl and wonder what would have happened had common sense prevailed and we stayed there...yes the Booths remained greedy by asking for extortionate rent munee hence Tony Stewart's decision to progress the club elsewhere...
The Chairman had envisaged what was required and was willing to put in to place his plans to redevelop Millmoor...but we all know the rest..
My question to all is should the Council now review their decision to allow planning permission to redevelop Millmoor?
There will be those who say let it fall down before allowing the Booth family to 'have the last laugh' and go on to expand their business as it is they that originally drove the club out of town...or others may agree that planning permission should be granted and let progress step in for the land to be redeveloped...
Currently Boothy's have submitted plans for five large new billboards to go on top of

I thought the point was that there's a covenant on the land requiring it to be used as a sport's ground, rather than a planning thing?
Whichever, I think it's up to CF Booth to come up with a proposal for redevelopment. I don't see any point in knocking it down for the sake of it. I mean, the rugby club might, conceivably, be in a position to make a more commercial offer to use it one day.
That said, if there is a genuine case for redevelopment, I don't see there's any longer any point in standing against it just to be obstructive.

Not a dig at you Brin but lets just appreciate that the Booth family put millions in to the club and without them the club wouldnt exist and there wouldn't have been a chance of Tony Stewart coming along and building this amazing stadium for us. I understand why relations turned sour but they did do a lot for this club.
Regarding Millmoor I would have liked Rotherham Titans to have been able to call that place home rather than them having to leave the town. However have you seen te back of todays advertiser? A interesting read and sounds promising yet im still not 100% sure what they are on about.
At the end of the day it is their land and so they can do as they wish as long as it is legal.

Went past DVS today on the Supertram, the place looks like Hiroshima.

Have to admit for one of the new breed of hockey grounds it is an excellent stadium. Makes MKD look like a joke.
I understand you can increase the attendance which will be handy if you get to the Championship, which I hope you do, especially for the 3000 regulars at DVS.

Its amazing the amount of affection held by so many away fans who used to love coming to a 'propper'old ground. Many who come still pop up to have a look at her.Having said all that I agree it should be gone.:( :(

Shame if the Titans have to move out of town permanently.
