Yes this happened in 1946/47. In re-building Germany and restarting normal life, West Ham played in the New Bundesliga for five home games, whilst the Boleyn Ground had minor bomb damage repaired.

If my memory's not playing tricks (possible at my age) I seem to remember when I was working in Frankfurt years ago there were several regional Oberligas. The winners of all the Oberligas had a round of play offs to see who made it to the second strata of the Bundesliga.Quote:
