Harry Davis injury kept us in the league
As bad as it sounds it's true.
Dugdale as been a rock with Ellis and conceded two late injury time consolations over 4 games, with 2 clean sheets. Our record with Davis at the back makes for poor viewing.
If we didn't send Dugdale out on loan (in which he scored to give tranmere a point in one game) we would not of been as in it as we were.
Think his injury has awnsered all arguments about him being a 1st team player next season.

DONT AGREE H.Davies has been one of the most improved players, they all make mistakes that's football, what kept us up was more like S.D and the players for once playing Champagne football, just takes time to ferment.
Lets hope for a Boring mid table place next year.

Totally agree Harry Davis injury kept us in the league son and manger in football don't work when Harry was playing poor Davis never dropped him his heart ruled his head Harry's injury was blessing in disguise .
re: Harry Davis injury kept us in the league
I shouldn't get involved in this as I think the whole post is nonsensical and unrealistic.
But Harry Davis was, in my opinion, the most improved player in the squad. He was a rock when we needed one.
All credit to Duggie, who stepped up magnificently after Harry's injury, but I will not denigrate Harry's contribution.
Son has worked exceptionally well with and for his father in this case.

Son and manger in football is a no no

Tranmere lost 4-3 in the game when Duggy got on the score sheet.
Don't recall too many calling for Harry to be dropped when he got injured.
Having said that Duggy's done well and Ellis has looked better alongside him - but there was still some poor defending from both of them in the games against Notts Co and Coventry after Harry got injured.
Also think there was an error in judgement at the start of the season when the inexperienced Ray got in on the basis of his performance in the pre-season friendli
re: Harry Davis injury kept us in the league
Harsh is one word but I can think of a few stronger words. Harry Davis played his part this season and I would go as far as to say that there were times when Ellis could have been dropped. Ellis ended the season strongly, proved he is still a very good player, but his season on the whole has been very much up and down. At the start of the season Ray was given the nod which many thought was odd except when Ellis got the call he was dire and I think for a large part of the season Davis was the outstanding CH and well deserved his place. I agree the pairing of Ellis and Dugdale towards the end of the season was immense, but that should not distract from the contribution of HD. As for this nonsense of father and son doesn't work, its total garbage. I can only imagine those spouting this nonsense have there own agenda. As for Ellis, Dugdale and Davis all 3 have a future at the Alex and I will imagine they will all play a part next season.

I find this thread disgusting. Harry Davis has been our most improved player over the last couple of seasons and this garbage about him only playing because his dad is manager is like reading the Sunday sport.
We have 3 or 4 decent centre halves which provides us with adequate cover. I think our whole team needs to learn how to defend properly but I certainly wouldn't signal Harry out for any of the blame.
I was elated yesterday but this thread has done nothing but anger me. Hang your heads critics.
