do any of you f#ckers speak a diffo language.
i don't mean being able to count to ten in french or owt like that, but maybe string a few sentences together , or maybe understand what is being said in an foreign tongue ?
i did french at school but wassnae much cop at it , tbh.

My work requires reading French. Don't think I'll ever be perfectly fluent speaking it but I get by. I'm self-conscious about making mistakes.
I studied Arabic for years way back when but it has atrophied from lack of use.
French here too, my reading is better than my speaking, but in either case I can make myself understood. Unfortunately, though my home city of Montreal has a large French speaking population, it is the French of 17th century France and as such differs somewhat from the French of contemporary France that I learned in school.Quote:

I do French and Italian, a little rusty now but it comes back to me pretty quickly. Spent two years working in Italy when I was a kid and also worked there a couple of times. Did French at school and also worked there many time during the seventies and eighties. Can read both pretty well along with Portuguese [again time spent working in Brazil.
Like Italian the best, very beautiful language but also very ordered and logical.

I can speak a bit of Fula and Wolof which are West African languages and some French.
