James McCarthy Being Watched By Manchester Utd And Chelsea?
Manchester United and Chelsea up ante in race for Everton star.
Manchester United and Chelsea are thought to be ready to table bids in the race to sign Everton midfielder James McCarthy, however Roberto Martinez insists the 23-year-old is not for sale.
Scouts from both United and Chelsea have been spotted at the Toffees pre-season fixtures but boss Martinez is keen to keep the Scotland international in Liverpool.
"I'm not surprised if people are being complimentary about him, but his future is clearly at Everton," Martinez told the press this week.
However, with both Louis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho believing McCarthy could be one for the future, Martinez could be fighting a losing battle.

I don't think McCarthy need look any further than the huge list of those ex-blues who have shipped out for "bigger clubs" and what's happened to them. With the stability the Manager/Board and more established bring now there's no better team for young players to play than Everton.

Agreed. Even Moysie found out to his cost that the grass really isn't always greener.
Hopefully he will realise that it may be better for him to be one of the main cogs at Everton, rather than just being a spare part elsewhere :)
