The Isle of Wight results are all over the place. I've lived here for 32 years now, in Newport and the East Coast. I'd say the following is a fair assessment;

PO31/32 Scum for sure
(Incudes East and West Cowes)
PO30 Both 50/50 Maybe Scum edging it(Inc Newport)
PO33 Both 60/40 Pompey although there are a fair and surprising number of Scummers in Ryde.
PO36/37/38 Pompey for sure (inc Sandown Shanklin and Ventnor)
PO34/35 To posh to care about football (with some notable exceptions who I bump into in the Invinsible post match).
PO39/40/41 Who knows?? You would have to be mad to venture that far west. I've seen 'Deliverance', I know better.

Although it looks complicated with the postcodes it is pretty much the same as it used to be. Draw a line straight down the Island from the North tip to South and West was Scum and East was the True Faith. That line would bisect Cowes and Newport but because it was easier to get to Scum from those two places they tended to be Scumties havens.

PS Think I might know Tig as I go in the Invinsible (sic) sometimes.

Post codes didn't exist when I (and possibly Corky ) were still in residence. It does sound as if things are pretty much as they were, line down the middle of the Island and to the east Blue to the west Red, probably linked with the ease of boat (or is it ship ?) transport to the two grounds... interesting though Scully

Yep, the thought of catching the No 14 all the way to Cowes and then an hours boat journey to watch Terry Paine does not bear thinking about. No Fastjets in them thar days. Not enough paper round money either.

I honestly don't remember a single Scummer in our town though a couple of lads I went to school with played a handful of games for them.

Did you come over on a paddle steamer and go below to watch the engines pounding away? Used tolove that when I was a nipper.

Yep... sometimes went to Southsea rather than Portsmouth harbour.

The engines were an engineering work of art - gleaming brass pipes as was the design details in the little drinking snugs below decks. Beautifully etched windows and carved mahogany. Remember the boat? ship? floated with a permanent list.
