Sheedy: My Free-Kick Against Liverpool Stands Out For Me

Everton legend Kevin Sheedy has spoken fondly about his memories of the Merseyside derby – and one game in particular.
The former Republic of Ireland international experienced a host of derby encounters at Anfield during his decade as an Everton player between 1982 and 1992.
But when asked to reflect on those fixtures, one famous moment leaps out above all others. His free-kick at the Kop end in April 1987 as the Blues closed in on the league title.
“The one that stands out for me was the free-kick, 25-yards out, at the Kop end,” Sheedy told evertonfc.com. “I think everyone in the ground knew what I could do, and to actually do it on the day – stick it in the top corner was something special.
“It’s on the back of my book now. They were happy memories, great occasions and I loved playing in them.”
