From the Well Society ...
There is a special general meeting on Tuesday to elect a new board member.
We were also hoping to be in a position to update members in detail on the Motherwell FC ownership situation at the same time, but this will now not be possible.
We know the ongoing uncertainty is hugely frustrating for members and other fans but, for legal reasons, and also because of signed confidentiality agreements, we will not be able to go into detail on what is happening behind the scenes. However, please be assured that we are doing everything humanly possible to achieve our goals.
The situation is extremely delicate at the moment and we cannot do anything that would jeopardise our goal of ensuring the community is at the heart of a more financially stable future for Motherwell FC. There is too much at stake for us to prematurely say anything that would undermine the society’s aims.
We will, however, organise another meeting in December when we can and promise that we wil
Thought better of John Boyle confidentiality agreements just means he is keeping the fans in the dark ,the longer this goes on for the bigger the hole we will be in and it might be to late to stop the rot
makes some amount of sense. Appreciate don't want to give rival bids too much insight re the society.
fingers crossed for a suitable outcome.
Thats all very well but we need to have new owners and a new manager in place by early/mid December at the latest. The current situation whereby the club is in limbo cannot go on for much longer.
Very disappointing.
I assume you are not being serious in your suggestion that Boyle is using the phrase 'confidentiality agreements'?? In takeover situations in business many parties get involved and all have to sign such legal agreements to protect all parties involved. Football clubs are no different. And the customers (fans) are not important in any such deal, so we'll, quite rightly, be last to know the ownership of the club.Quote:

You are correct and the analogy is a good one. It's a bit different now with web pages email etc for information and speculation to be seen synonymous. Prospective new owners are in negotiation and won't want to jeopardize that and until a deal is done or the bid is withdrawn or rejected the fans will have to wait. I am surmising with the delay in information the negotiations are ongoing though not necessarily unduly protracted. Can't help but feel the current owners are trying to ensure that the clubs best interest are paramount in and deal.
Speculation on my part but I reckon the Society has been given a short extension to raise the necessary cash or negotiations about its loan repayments are still dragging on or both.
