Torn Hamstring Rules Mason Out for 8 Weeks..
Joe Mason is set to miss between six and eight weeks of action, after scans revealed a tear in his hamstring.
Mason, who is on a season-long loan at Bolton from Cardiff City, became the first Wanderers player to net a competitive first-team hat-trick in 12 years in September, but has seen his career stall since then - featuring just twice since Neil Lennon's appointment as manager.
With Craig Davies missing Saturday's goalless draw against Ipswich Town with a hamstring problem of his own, Mason was a surprise absentee from the matchday squad.
Conor Wilkinson began as a lone forward against the Tractor Boys, while Eidur Gudjohnsen was introduced as a second-half substitute. After seeing Max Clayton stretchered off with a suspected knee ligament injury, Lennon confirmed after the game that the reason why Mason was left out of the squad because of a torn hamstring.

Roll on the January transfer window. Mason will be back at Cardiff very soon, Craig Davies has a minor injury, but Clayton could be out for the season and Beckford is now at Preston.
I reckon we might need 2 new strikers in January. Nick Powell has been mentioned as a possible target in January btw.

Mason has hardly played under Lennon.
Is NL not a fan or has he been carrying an injury all the while?
I personally think he should be in the team, but then it makes more sense to develop our own players for a change.

I think Lennon identified Davies and Clayton as his preferred partnership up front and it worked. They are both our own players as well so perhaps he was thinking long-term

Lennon doesn't rate Moxey, Spearing, Medo & Mason. Bogdan will be off in January too.
