Graeme Sharp Very Surprised If Martinez Is Under Pressure

Former Everton attacker Graeme Sharp says it would be a surprise to him if manager Roberto Martinez is under any major pressure despite the clubs limp start to the season.

The Spaniard oversaw a stunning debut campaign In charge of the Toffees last term, guiding the Merseysiders to Europa League qualification while playing an exciting brand of football with youngsters such as Ross Barkley involved.

But, the current season has been a different story, with Everton languishing in the bottom half of the table despite breaking their transfer record to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea for £27m.

His old side have picked up just one win in their last seven Premier League matches, but Sharp believes that Martinez, who has done a “fantastic” job should not be under any major pressure from chairman Bill Kenwright:
