The end of the Pearce era?
Will be extremely surprised if Fawaz doesn't sack him after a 3rd straight game of abject defending and no sense of direction. It's not a question of stability or the long term anymore. If a manager cannot motivate his players, if they cannot gel as a team, if a winless run goes into 20 matches, it's very hard to justify hanging on.
We'll only be humiliated further next week if everything remains the same. We are gonna lose next week and lose terribly, better to sack now than after next week. Of course a new man might not be able to stave off a defeat next week, but he'll at least not be blamed for it and will have time to consider how to resurrect life into the team. Pearce unfortunately has been unable to do, not for want of trying but it just didn't work out. This was as bad a performance at home I've seen in a long time. Brum yes scored thrice, but in way they got a bit of luck too with 3 attempts all going in. Weds completely dominated us in every department and should have won b

The only hope now is that the blind optimists who want this shambles to continue until the end of the season will now realise that, great player that he was, this is the worst manager since Platt.
Frank Clark, a man who got us promoted followed by third in the premiership and selected Cotterill, was sacked and replaced by McGovern, a complete failure as a manager, who selected Pearce. Another example of the inept running of our club.
Please sort it out Fawaz and appoint people who are actually competent to perform the role that they are paid to perform.

Steve Cotterell has done a pretty decent job at turning Bristol City around. To be fair he kept Forest afloat with nothing.
I disagree more with Garry Birtles and Ken Burns who have done a pretty decent job in slagging off the best Manager we have had since Frank Clark.
Love him or hate him Silly Billy was the man for the job in my opinion.

Billy Davis is the wrong man for any job. He's always had a chip on his shoulder. It's never his fault - he's the best manager in the business in his small mind.

In this era, it is not how much you spend that gets you promotion, but wise spending combined with a manager who can motivate players to perform better than players at other clubs who are seen to be of equal ability - the "man for the job" was Cotterill, but Fawaz made his biggest mistake by not giving him a chance. Well managed teams are now climbing the table

Some people have very short memories, this is the same manager that after 7 games was top of the league, oh go on don't tell me he wasn't able to motivate the team then either. Yes we are on an awful run but don't you think the players need to take a long hard look at themselves. At the beginning of the season we had a full squad to choose from and psycho seemed to know his best team and it worked. The team we put out yesterday was rubbish When you consider who was missing how many of those would have played from the start if others were available. My conclusion is that the replacements are simply not good enough and the manager can see that hence the loans, I would say generally bar a couple of exceptions the players he has bought in have been our better players this season and the turning point for our season was that fa cup game against spurs.
