Thanks for the heads up. A very interesting read and in theory very reassuring.
From the odd comment in his punditry I formed the impression that Neville was quite impressed with Saints. He was certainly purring over our defensive acumen when we beat Man U the other week.
I'm think he was adamant we were going to be relegated.
Anyway will have a read of that.
Some bits of the inner workings I had no knowledge of so that was interesting, if a bit deep.
I agree completely about the gaffer role, maybe not for the same reasons, imo the days when the likes of Fergie, Venables, Redknapp etc could dominate players is probably lost to another era. Players wages and player power has seen to that. Building a joined up club seems a very good way forward.
Cant make the connection that everything we are seeing in terms of development is down to what happened 6 years ago. I'm not dismissing anything that has happened in the last 6 years but also in my many years as a Saints fan I have seen players developed at Southampton; Steve Williams, Mark Wright, the Wallace's, Steve Moran, Alan Shearer and of course MLT etc, etc, that is almost part of our DNA but it has been massively improved in the last 6 years.
