Iwelumo scored a hat trick AND was sent off against against Preston in the same game in 2008. That would be a hard combination to find anywhere! - view external link

Reminds me of a Gordie Howe hat trick - goal, assist and a fight!

Remember seeing Gordie Howe play in his 30s at the Montreal Forum, Mich, used his elbows in the corners more than his stick! Remember one rookie getting his stick up high on Howe against the boards in their first meeting. Gordie quietly explained to the lad, we don't do that here in the NHL. Ten minutes later the two went into the corner and Howe gold-cocked the rookie with an elbow to the head.
