An inevitable Correlation
I would be really interested to see the details around the clubs with the lowest wage budgets in the Championship and compare that to the final league placings.
My guess (though I do not have the facts) is that the 3 clubs with the lowest wage budgets in the division are :-
Blackpool
Millwall
Rotherham
If the Millers cannot hold-off Wigan's renaissance and take the 3rd relegation place will this be poor management as Zizal / Hillsborough Miller, etc. state or will it just have been inevitable given our ability to compete financially coupled with the fact that we are the only team in the Championship that were playing in league 2 in 2013?
I still believe that the current manager is the right person to lead the Millers next season, regardless of the division we are in.
I cannot think of anyone better with the budget we have - maybe Paul Cook would be a good replacement, but could we afford to tempt him from Chesterfield? Doubtful
I still believe that 4th from bottom this season wou
re: An inevitable Correlation
when i think of budgets i remember what a brum fan said to me when they played at NYS..
he said along with blackpool brum must have one of the smallest wage budgets in the league. some players are only on 7/8k per week.
i just smiled and said. Really? that bad?
re: An inevitable Correlation
Another rough correlation is that clubs with low average attendances finish in the bottom quarter of the league they are in.
The worst 3 usually go down.
