Crewe v Crawley
For any Exiles wanting to know about todays match, the lateness of this post and the fact it's me doing it speaks volumes.
A rather frustrating 0-0 draw against an ordinary Crawley side (yes they have had some decent results recently),mind we want that much better, especially in the attacking third.
Anyway, onwards and upwards to Monday and more importantly next Satdee. :D

Many thanks for this; it looked bad on the live scores as our first-half superiority evaporated and we were left hanging on.
Our forward choices for next season are looking a lot clearer. If Ajose (no goals in ten games) and Uche are no longer doing it for us, we'll just have to stick with Coco, Haber and Lauri. We probably couldn't afford the others anyway. Tate, as a defender wishing to get his coaching badges, is the player to persuade to stay on.
We can't complain about only one goal conceded at home in the last six games, yet our position is still far from secure. But if we were to manage a draw against a Leyton Orient side who are incomparably more dangerous than Crawley, the pressure might ease. Their run-in includes games against most of the play-off contenders, who will provide much tougher opposition than we can. So fingers crossed.
BTW, did Pogba receive a warm reception?

one shot on target in ninety minutes against a poor side, below us in the table and we were the home side. Not good enough!

re: Crewe v Crawley
I would say more of a hot reception than a warm one!! We were stuck in the usual fiasco that constitutes traffic along Manor Way and were on our way into the round when he was announced, to a chorus of boos which were repeated whenever he was on the ball.
When he was subbed the same was true, although there was also a smattering of applause. It was a shame he was subbed, to be honest, as he did as little as the rest of the 22 players to raise a pretty mediocre game. Defences were on top (yes, even ours) and the front 3 from both sides were only noticeable for their general ineffectiveness and inability to gel together. Haber did more in three minutes than dear old Uche managed all match, not through want of trying it must be said.
All in all, a disappointment.
Oh, and Rachubka hardly put a foot or glove wrong and set up one of our more promising attacks from a superb long throw out.

A note too for the crowd. An extra 1k+ home fans on a dismal day for a bottom of the table game. If only we had some big mouth chairman over spending and pleading for fans to turn up... :D

Terrible game. Crawley were big, strong and knocking it long. We just didn't seem to have the nous to break them down. Our front three were never really at the races, Ajose particularly quiet - need him to rediscover form ASAP. The game did show we can battle - the conditions weren't the best and every Crawley player seemed at least 6ft. As a spectacle the game was rubbish though.

re: Crewe v Crawley
I've seen us play a lot worse recently (e.g. v. Oldham and v. MK Dons), but it was a fairly uninspiring day out. I'm glad I was there rather than anywhere else on such a (weather) miserable day.
Just my opinion, but I'd've made LDV MotM for his work rate and the fact that he looked to be the only one attacking with purpose and direction. Leigh was fine, but against such poor opposition (I thought they were on a roll?) he didn't need to be world class. He did cause a few problems darting forward, as did Inman when he came on.
Rachubka looks more assured every time I see him, but he didn't have an awful lot to do. My only two real negatives - apart from far too many passing mistakes - were Atkinson and Turton. Maybe they were having off days, but I found them both pretty anonymous. I agree with the comments above about Ajose and Ikpeazu.
Ref was appalling, yet again, and I'm worried that Grant's yellow means he will miss a game (please advise Alex fans).
Bad defending almost at the g

Were you lot at the same game ? absolutely shocking why ajose is told to run wide into other players territory I dont know.and the only man in the ground who thought uche for inman kin inman was a good move must be the manager.unless hes been told to play him so he can be sold. uche off after an hour for haber surely not with 3 minutes to go? 3 minutes for haber and no george or waters ? go now davis just go kin clueless. it worked at sheff u granted but why oh why when it isnt working does he wait till the games gone to change it. mind you he didnt put guthrie on with 5 to go which is his usual clueless sub. Weve got some good players but we also have a clueless manager
