Massive game for Livingston this weekend as a win against Queens will see them avoid automatic relegation from the Championship . With Alloa & Cowdenbeath playing each other they've even a chance of them finishing 8th .
This game will perhaps see Queens resting a few players & bringing in a few of the young lads into the staring 11 .
A betting mans money will be on a Livi win this weekend
Livi have reduced their prices to 10 pounds an adult and 8 pounds concessions with under 12s free to try and get a big crowd
Sadly even such drastic action will not attract a huge crowd, as people have so much else to do on a Saturday.There will be a much bigger attendance than normal at Livi however, due to the stakes rather than the admission charges.
I would expect QOS to come a cropper on Saturday, even if they played at full strength and gave 100%, so it would probably be wise to give players like Aiden and Dean Smith and Jake Pickhard a real test.
This could be the hardest game of the season because Livi will be playing as though their life depends upon the result, - and in many ways it does.
Perhaps, therefore, not the best game to have those players who are liable to pick up yellow cards for fun taking part. That should be interesting as 3/4's of the first team fall into that category!
Home win . Livi have too much to lose :(
The team needs to maintain a winning mentality going into these play offs.
To assume some sort of laid back approach to the Livi game and changing faces to give fringe players a run is complete folly.
Livingston have been a bogey side for us this season and it's a tough world out there.
Queens should go into this game to win handsomely and send Livi into League 1.
So, a test of the manager's resolve and can he motivate the squad enough to treat this match as a must win for Queens?

Ideally i would put out a reserve side bearing in mind the players are going to have to play 3 games in a week commencing the following weekend if they win over the two legs that is. But i think they have an obligation to field a strong side as Livingston Alloa and Cowdenbeath are fighting for survival. I wouldnt be happy if we needed an opposing team to lose to make the playoff and they were playing a reserve side because there game is meaningless to them.
Then they should have played better and won more games during the season like we did! We should be looking after ourselves. We should field the youth team and rest our 1st teamers who must be tired after a long season and as you say will potentially be playing loads of games during the play offs in a short space of time. To hell with what other teams think. Our team have earned the right to rest and if that helps our chances in the play offs then we do it. End of.Quote:

If Queens have ambitions to go into the SPFL, what is the logic in fielding the strongest possible team on Saturday and asking them to play at 100%? All that will happen is that we will end up with top players being injured and / or suspended and there is no guarantee that we will even beat Livi anyway, - as they will be fighting (literally) for every ball.
Far better to give the hot-heads a day off and field a team of players who have featured at some point during the season, as they have something to prove. In other words, you would get 100% from players like Atkinson, Hooper, A.Smith and D.Smith, and Pickard (who may have to feature in the forthcoming ties anyway,) and Saturday's game will be just as tough as the play-off matches. By playing the aforementioned, the manager will be able to get a real understanding of who is cutting the mustard when the chips are down, - and make no mistake, the Livingston match will be far and away the toughest game of the season.
