I've been impressed with his signings so far.

Raynes gives some nastiness and solidity in defence.

Kennedy and Joyce bring some proven bite to the midfield area.

Hery gives us a bit of technical ability and craft in central areas that we've been bereft of for years now.

Ibere gives us some strength and experience upfront and the ability to hold the ball up - which again, we've lacked for years.

Fair play to the manager for addressing the weaknesses in our team with his summer signings.

I'd still like to see a little more experience in central defence and a touch more creative flair brought in - but I'm optimistic about our chances this season.

Oh, and we've signed an actual right-back.

A task which proved too difficult for our previous two managers.

If rumours are correct he has also got rid of Billy Paynter. Thats the best bit of news so far

Did he get Gillespie to stay? My impression is he couldn't get a move so any job is better than no job.

It's been an interesting few days. Buddle's off back to Gateshead; Asamoah has signed a 6 month contract; there's talk that Paynter's off to Hartlepool; Hery and Ibehre have joined us for at least a year. All positives, though nowt's been proved yet. I might even be persuaded to take in a couple of friendlies.

Proof of the pudding,will it be tasty for once,well it is long overdue.A dozen games should give us some idea excluding friendlies of course and rightly so because they mean sod all.
