Florence & the Machine? Just shove an owl in a wind tunnel, same thing. ;D
Not been to Glasto since '99 as you have to pay to get in nowadays. I went 5 times in the 90's & never paid! Over the fence, under the fence, one year pretty much through the fence, piece of piss. One year we also successfully bunked the trains there & back too (SD ;D ). Happy days.
I wouldn't like it now. I bet the art/craft and street-food stalls are now replaced by beard-oil boutiques and overpriced craft ales.
Back in the day the target market was the alternative scene in general & was a great mix of hippies, rockers, punks, indie-kids & grungers where as nowadays it's aimed at marketing execs from Battersea. Wouldn't enjoy it.
Although in complete contradiction, I really hope my friends Maid Of Ace absolutely smash the BBC Introducing stage today at 1:30. Those girls are good and really deserve it. - view external link
Enjoyed Lionel Richie, good ole boy !
Looking great for his years. O:)
The audience were "outrageous".
I saw the track they put on the red button...which was rubbish. Three chords and a lot of shouting. There was hardly anyone watching either...a lot of wandering about at the back!!Quote:

She certainly won the running championship, but if you asked me to hum a single one of her tunes afterwards, I couldn't. Were there any, apart from the one Foo Fighters song she covered?Quote:

Oh yeah, and "3 chords & shouting" is the bedrock of alot of punk btw, just so's ya know. ;D

Fair point about the sound. I heard a Hot Chip track on 6 Music this morning that sounded fantastic. Then watched it again online and
Couldn't tell you. I paid no attention to this years annual hipster & marketing exec getaway other than Maid Of Ace's set, purely because I know them.Quote:

Haven't been since '97 and also have never paid.Quote:
