Yes,much needed signing. Lee Williamson is too much like Jason Lowe,and Petschi(who I admit Ive never seen)is described as like"Bambi on ice".
Which leaves Corey Evans,or not??
Im thinking OSullivan might be a support player for the lone striker(hopefully still Jordan Rhodes).
Bob - it's a bit difficult to see how the midfield is going to work. On the one hand, we all know the advantages of a settled team; on the other, it is sometimes sensible to be flexible, taking into account the opposition, the venue, etc.
For a start, are we going to be seeing a lone striker, or will Brown (Koita?) regularly appear alongside Rhodes (if he is still with us)? To some extent, that will determine how the midfield looks.
I am assuming that Marshall and Conway are certainties to start. Besides them ( and leaving aside some of the youngsters on the fringe at the moment), that means GB will be selecting two or three from:
Lowe, Williamson, Lenihan, Petshi, Guthrie, Evans, Taylor, O'Sullivan.
How does that work out? Well, Williamson and Lenihan look like cover for Lowe in the short term. Petshi, I reckon, will be treated more as a development-player. Taylor provides the wide cover.
That leaves Lowe, Guthrie, Evans and O'Sullivan. My guess is that, when there is a single s
