Why Comps.????

I have just received a phone call offering me two comps. for Keith's testimonial.
Why comps. ?
I thought the whole idea of this event was to maximise every financial avenue to thank him for his service to our Club not to issues "freebees"
What is worse is the guy who offered me these tickets can well afford to put his hand in his pocket and pay but as he has "cadged" his way thro' life there was no chance of him changing now.
I have taken up his offer only to make sure they are not used by others and will return them unused after the game and after I have paid for my wife and I to attend.

Have never ever heard of comps at a testimonial so bit strange don't get it

He might have got comps on the strength of a sizable donation! to the testimonial already, I would never judge without knowing the facts. You may just alienate a decent guy, I would rather accept a reasonable explanation before lambasting him.
