O/T Your NON FOOTBALL heroes as a kid...
...Up to the age of about 12 XD
Mine was pretty much USA based, Steve Austin and Marvel.
Spiderman was the one for me, my wonderful dear old nan used to buy me a Marvel comic every week, bless her.
Spiderman comics were printed in a landscape format when I first started collecting them and they had glossy covers.
I used to iron my comics to keep them pristine XD :O
I reckon it was the music and intro to the 6 million dollar man that made him a hero to me.
'We can rebuild him. We have the technology to build the worlds first..."
I also liked Wolverine before Hollywood cottoned on. He used to wear yellow and black.
This may not have any legs but it would be interesting to know other experiences.
Another non Wolves thread by the way :)

I had a mate who lived just behind the old Springhill pub in Penn.
He loved 2000 AD and I used to stay at his in my early drinking days after a night along the Penn Road.
I started to get into Dredd, what was that occasional Twilight Zone type story in the comic, Tharggs Future Time Shocks or something like that? The story only was a page long but I liked that bit.
Going off a bit but Stallone ruined the enigma that is Joe Dredd.
You NEVER saw Dredd's face in the comics but Stallone spent more time with his helmet off.
And I like Stallone.

Television was creeping into everyone's homes, my sports heroes were primarily hockey, and the Montreaal Canadiens's goalie, Jacques Plante; the CFL (Canadian Football League and the Montreal Alouettes). On television there were Roy Rodgers, Palladin and The Lone Ranger!
