Another Rhodes thread - I hope he goes :)
Could the departure of Rhodes be one of the best things to happen to Rovers in years? Bought with intent of a bounce, the mismanagement of the team in the opening season put pay to that. From this point on we had 2 strikers that would fire most teams to the top 6, but instead they were hailed for avoiding relegation. Not really ideal for the club or the players in question.
Watching the celebration of Watt’s goal yesterday, (on the telly); spoke volumes to me. Rhodes leaving means an adjustment in the mindset of the players on the pitch. They can’t rely on this lad to pull us out of a hole, they can’t be indecisive in shooting as they look to see if Rhodes is available. They need to play a new style, and work more together as a unit and as a whole. It is teams that play like this that have beaten us in the last couple of seasons, and they all managed it without Jordan Rhodes in their squads. Damn. I was looking forward to an all round better team, and the money would have helped massively in getting that. We need footballers right now in every position on the pitch :(
