Think I would be a bit peeved if Boro get promotion and he suddenly becomes their star player.
Quite happy with Corkie, Puncheon, Surman and certain other ex Saints doing OK in the prem, not so much with this guy.
Why has he not performed for Saints ?
Maybe because he hasn't been given enough of a chance but that is arguable.
Some would say he's had plenty of time to prove himself although he's been injured a lot during that time.
Anyway the manager doesn't rate him it seems so we won't be seeing him again,.....until he returns for the opposition one day and inevitably scores.
We are certainly missing more than a bit of creativity in the midfield, not just this season either.
I don't dislike him or begrudge him the opportunity to play.
It's not his problem that he has a lucrative contract.
Fwiw the very few times I've seen him play I've never been impressed, particularly when playing for Uruguay.
In fact the most 'impressive' thing about him is that he comes from Fray Bentos
Creative players get just a little more time in the Championship. I remember when Merson was gone as a Prem player, but he got both Boro and us promoted with a ridiculous amount of assists.
Get him back for one more chance I say.
