I'm not really sure what to make of this.
I would have hoped the recruitment strategy would be to build a squad that is capable of competing well and establishing the club in the Championship.
It seems that the primary aim will be to develop young players with a view to selling them on and, whilst I understand the economic attraction of that approach, it's hardly likely to convince supporters that the club really does have ambitions to move onwards and upwards.
If a gulf is growing between us and League One teams in terms of TV money, perhaps the best strategy would be to try and sign young players from this division who we feel can make the step up. This of course depends on what we are prepared to spend on transfer fees, but I'd rather this policy than last season, signing 30 odd injury prone Championship rejects.
