A few days later and a few signings later, are we lucky or what?
We are not going down with the team that AS and TS are building. Surely we can all now see this.
Cannot wait for our season to start.
Thank you Tony. I am a very happy clapper

When sat' comes. Could do with that striker in who can challenge & pull there defence apart.
Any news on that Right back we had on trial. Vaulks can play there, hope Mattock keeps fit while Newell or Belaid get back to cover.
Our midfield will be that strong will protect defence. UTM
Agree Pete 100%
Not sure about not going down Pete but do agree that we seem to be in much better shape than a few days ago.
We seemed to be sinking quicker than Avanti but we are looking in decent shape now..striker needed
everyone knows it but we have not, in any way, replaced Derbyshire, Best and JCH. That is the majority of our goal scoring ability from last year so until we do that with two new strikers i think we are still a weaker team than last season.
Matt, that maybe true but we still have players that can put the ball in the net (IMO) and that's what counts
I don't think the speed is greedy I think the agent wants money for a second home
who do you think those current players are then that can put the ball in the net?
where we do seem better this season is that...
We have a quality keeper from the start and not the nonsense we had to deal with for the first few games last year.
We have Broadfoot from the start alongside an experienced championship defender in Wilson instead of Thorpe and Collins at the back like last year.
We have Halford settled and in a role where he looked good during the end of last year.
The signings of Vaulks, JFC and Scott Allan? to add to Halford, Smallwood and Frecks gives us much better strength and cover in that area. You could argue that all 6 of those lads are first team starting players so it will be crucial to get the correct ones selected to start. That will be a real challenge for AS and in a way I hope that Halford, frecks and smallwood are the ones on the bench as it will mean the new signings have really strengthened us.
Record signing Taylor will hopefully give us something direct from a wide area. A lot to expect him to be better than Grant Ward but hopefully he will bring a better final ball and a few more goals than Grant did. Would have taken Grant Ward back in a flash though so Taylor has big boots to fill. There seems to be low expectations of Forde - hopefully he can make his mark asap.
The massive area we are lacking is up front. We have a decent target man in Danny Ward but he is not a consistent goal scorer. Apart from that we have a 19 year old that has never really played first team football at this level. There is nothing else. Best and especially Derbyshire guaranteed you a certain amount of goals. Not many but you would get goals from them and these kept us up for the last two seasons.
What we cant let happen is the same as the goal keeper situation like last year. It took us a couple of months to get Camp in and by that point Roos had cost us valuable points. We cant leave it weeks and weeks of not scoring and missing chances and therefore throwing away points before addressing it.
