Hey all.
Hey mates. I haven't been present on the forum for a long time. Partly that's down to the loss of Tundra, who was so much a part of the forum for me, and partly due to some health issues of my own in recent months. As far as those go, I'm hopeful that a turning point has been reached. I've been following the Wolves results but haven't found much to cheer about there...
Something amazing has happened here. The Chicago Cubs have reached the World Series, for the first time in 71 years. Opening game is tonight. Should they manage to win--a distinct possibility--they will break the longest losing streak of any team in any sport I know anything about. Mayhem will rule this town! On the side of optimism, they were one of the best teams in baseball this year, with strong pitching, hitting, fielding, a great manager, and a squad that seems genuinely cohesive and focused. On the pessimistic side, well, it is the Cubs...
Best to all of you. I hope you are well. Glad to see Mich, Eve, Woody, 71, Wokes, baggins, plater and some of the other old timers still active. There were a few people that I clashed with--Chimplad, Ron, etc. If any of those are still reading, I'd like to extend my hand and apologize for whatever was my part was in stirring up those quarrels, and then some. I hope to return to posting at some point. Meanwhile,
Up the Wolves! Go Cubbies!

Great to hear from you Robus. Sorry to hear about your illness but very pleased to hear it looks like have put it to the sword! Of course you know if you are relying on the Wolves results to give you a pick up you may as well book the lot now!
My son is a big baseball freak and he has been keeping me up to date with the Cubbies progress. We will be watching the game together tonight. Although we both have a soft spot for the Indians [because of the movie] we will of course be rooting for the Cubs.
COYW and COYC!!!!!!

Good to hear from you robus. Really good.
Now go get yourself on a road trip and post some more photos ;D

Feel better Robus. Been wondering where you've been as you've been a staple of the Prediction League each year.
Good luck to the Cubbies. Not a fan, but my mom's side of family are unbearable Cleveland and Ohio State fans. So I always root for their demise.

Fantastic to hear from you again Ray,glad to hear you are getting over your health problems and also of The Cubs up surge. Will always look out for them as The first 'Ball' game I ever went to was at Wrigley Field the day after I met you in Chicago! All the best Dude and don't be a stranger on here!! B)

All the best Robus, i'm glad you're posting again. Sorting your health out comes first and hopefully you're over them.

Great to hear from you Ray. As has already been said, get well soon and start sending us some more pics and details of your journeys. It would be great if one of your journeys was over here!

Hi Robus, good to hear from you again. We're hoping to make a trip from Calgary down to Vancouver and then a cruise next year, so any advice appreciated.

Thanks all. I missed this place. I wasn't able to make my traditional May motorcycle journey, or any rides this year. First time in ages. Can't wait to resume my riding, though it's getting late for this season.
Well, the Cubs got a walloping last night, 0-6. Seven game series, so there's plenty of time to rally if they've got it in them. Cleveland pitching was awesome. What is going on with Wolves? I was hoping for progress this season. Honestly, it has been hard to keep up with the goings-on, being unable to watch games and with a load of other things on my mind.
Wolfiebill, the guy who could have given you the most advice is no longer around to do so. He would have sent you a library of travel guides and probably offered to split the driving with you. :P My first-hand knowledge of Canada is limited to southern Ontario.

Tundra's departure has left a gaping hole, not only on this site but on many others. It was a privilege to have spent time with him.
