The club has announced that the east stand will henceforth be named "The John Hunter Stand". Among his great contribution to MFC was the winning of the League Championship in 1931/32.

I'd go along with that. Be amazed though how many current fans even know of the man. Not a criticism by any means, just a fact of life.
That happens with the passage of time. Giant figures from our past such as Hughie Ferguson, Willie MacFadyen, John Blair, and Hugh Wales are virtual unknowns. Even more recent names such as Wilson Humphries, Willie Redpath and Dixie Deans mean less and less to upcoming generations. Thats the natural way of things I guess.Quote:
