It looks better reading than last time however this was due to the amount we brought in due to player sales
Last season we posted a £36 million loss
this season £2.4 million loss
it is still a concern as we are still adding to that black hole of a debt
venkys of London have added they will need significant funding from venkys hatchery and regardless of the bank of India's response they will provide the funding
read into this what you will but it appears we are stuck with venkys and what we all knew and feared the only way to clear the debt is promotion

I know, I know I'm banging that same old drum, but the facts are: that with Venkys remaining 'on board', there is at least a glimmer of hope that with an enormous amount of luck it is the only way possible that our financial woes could be eradicated.
It's one hell of a long shot, but they appear to be able to be mega rich enough to see this debt owing as a bit of a minor annoyance.
I think it is their pride that far outweighs this penalty, and yes pride does come before the fall. But that 'fall' would be a decision made by Venkys ie it would not be an inevitable consequence.
So with all that in mind, this is something the 'lets get / hound them out brigade' need to seriously consider.
It would be lovely to turn the clock back and have never seen their arrival, but they did and they are so its a case of what's best now.
JW was a one off, it was a very different situation, the game financially has moved on way way beyond what it was then.
To envisage us doing a BFC from the ashes that would be left is a nice one, but is it realistic?
That would be the gamble.

To put it bluntly ,if Venkys leave you are phooked .. Sad but true ...

I have to say that no-one has come up with a really convincing or realistic alternative yet. If it happened, we'd grab it, but it is hard to see a way forward that doesn't involve biting the Venky's bullet.
I accept that some people hate the current owners so much, they would be prepared for the Club to go out of business and then rise again from the ashes.
That is one hell of a long-term project!
We've had the discussion before, and - in the end - it comes down to the fact that people like me are more interested in the Club as a football-team, whereas for others, it is a much wider, deeper emotional investment that seems to go far beyond football.

One thing for sure, it is important that Rover's (whatever Clarets fan's post) do not fall any further down the league pyramid.

The rivalry cannot be replaced!

we are dying a slow and painful death
season on season the debt increases while the playing squad becomes weaker and more threadbare
eventually venkys will pull the plug leaving us with the prospect of liquidation.

A bit too gloomy, I think (hope), Robin. Very few clubs have actually gone out of business altogether. Admittedly, some have hit rock-bottom in terms of status, but something/someone normally turns up to prevent extinction. (The funny thing is, you know, I'm not ALWAYS an optimist - just usually!)

Well I am starting to miss the match days
I think I might make the trip to ewood on Saturday and I will 100 percent be at Burton at the end of February.
