Shout out for Derby County
Last Monday, I received phone call from Derby County asking if my 12 year old daughter, a member of the Rams Squad and Season Ticket Holder, would like to be Rammie's Special Guest for the Leicester FA Cup match.
She wasn't on any waiting list etc, she was just, in effect, invited!
After spending time warming up on the pitch with Rammie and getting a photo with every player, she followed the players onto the pitch as they walked out (behind Will) and had photos immediately pre-kick off with the team captains and officials. She said Keogh and Clattenburg both took a little time to talk to her personally - really made her night!!!
The girl and guy looking after us were really great and made her feel at ease at all times.
I know it's only a small thing but Derby County didn't have to do it and could have invited people to pay for the privilege. I'm sure many would have done.
So in an era where it seems it's all about the money and aloof players far removed form their fans, I think Derby County should be congratulated for such acts.
If anyone from Derby County reads this forum, please accept Jess and my sincerest thanks for making the night so very special.
