Bert wasn't a massive physical presence, but he had ways of protecting himself, hence his nickname 'Digger'. He didn't score often, but did against Rangers in a 3 - 3 draw at Fir Park around 1960? We'd been doing badly in the league, and that result turned the season around. Thanks Bert; you won't be forgotten in Motherwell.
McCann the Man - RIP and condolences to family and friends.
RIP Bert. A real gentleman and a talented player off the pitch.
His passing will be marked before kick off today.
