I think it was a borderline red card. I would have given a yellow, but I don’t think it was close enough to overturn. They usually only overturn the blatantly obvious ones

Sliding tackle studs up... while he made contact with the ball first he wasn’t in control of his momentum afterwards and went through the player. Poor decision making from someone desperate to make an impression, I feel sorry for him but the right outcome.
