Ashley's valuation of players

Reading between the lines, it looks like we bid about 14 million for Jorgensen and they wanted 20 million. Just wondering how the club (Ashley) arrives at a figure of 14 million? We know he knows f*** all about football and so who is feeding him these numbers?

Seems to me that if Feyenoord wanted 14 million for him then Ashley would only offer 8 because the most important thing for him is to have struck a good deal and not to strengthen the team when it is desperately needed.

I'm at a loss to understand how he and the Board think - has he looked at our fixture list till the end of the season?Without a spark from somewhere, we are down.

Funny how Ashley wants his valuation of Newcastle met to the £ though innit.

I think the simplest answer is that he's a cunt who is willing to gamble on relegation.

The slightly longer answer is that he's stupid. Never mind the couple of billion he made with Shite Direct, he doesn't have a clue how to run a football club. He's admitted as much in the past. Football isn't a business like any other but, despite running a football club for 10 years, he keeps on making the same mistakes.

He's either doing it because it's a big two fingers to us or he's just stupid....and I suspect there's an element of truth in both those statements; I'm just not sure where the balance lies.

Ashley could be right in his valuation,but that would be in the summer not when we need a striker NOW with less than two days to get one.
