Supposedly closing the top tier at the SOL next season to try and improve atmosphere.
No surprise. Attendance was reported as 26 000 for last Tuesday's game but most supporters who were there would recognise that as genuine frontier gibbberish with the true figure being widely accepted as quite far short of even 20 000.
Mind, rivalry aside, absolutely hats off to those still going; that's why I used the word 'supporters' cos you've got to admire folk who go after the shit they've had to watch for years and especially after last and this season.
loving their plight....LOVING IT!
for any lurking mackems XD XD
But but but 6 in a row killed us....
Ah, don't get me wrong. I'm enjoying it as much as everyone else. ;)
But I'm out with a mate tonight who's just a footy fan who supports his local team (just happens to be those red and white clowns), goes to every home game and is just gutted about what's happening.
Yes you have feel for the genuine long term fans who have followed for generations and are there come hail or shine.
As for the dullards on R.T.G. and the other two left on Blunderland Mad then it's a fantastic feeling to see them wallowing and wailing with absolutely no hope in sight now and for the future.
what is their capacity when the top tier is closed?
I'd be guessing at 34,000 - 36,000
