I personally can see what the attempt was at Charlton and it just didn’t come off . But so be it.
I think there was prob a element of ‘amunition’ gathering by TM up front of his talks with Venkys. For sure they’re not gona throw stacks of cash at this (FFP wouldn’t allow anyway), but IMO there will be some hard bargaining at this meet.
My constant concern is: will TM be happy to go again next term if the monies are heavily unrealistic. Added to that the ‘aspirations’ set out as target.
The Venky family have confounded us for years and will continue to do so. Anything is possible.
