And about time too, he can make a good career for himself at D1 or D2 level, god knows why he was still hanging round BFC at 24 years old.

The lad is Burnley through and through, but their comes a time in a footballer's career when they know what their real level is. Tom has found his and I wish him all the very best in his future career.

Tom's 25 in four months time, most footballers know their real level years before that. Tom's career seems to have developed in a time warp.

He has played in 91 matches at League Two level in three seasons and then progressed to League One with Doncaster where he has played 7 matches since January and he was out injured for a couple of months.
He was under contract to us so he has seen out his contract whilst getting in a number of games on loan.

Exactly Ss, he's nearly 25 and never played above D1 level, so it's not been that difficult to work out his level, it's been apparent for some time. This summer we're going into our 3rd season as a PL club, way beyond any ability Tom has shown, he should have been gone and sorting out a career at a D1 or D2 club long ago.

Chris Long and Josh Ginnelly gone too. Thin margins at the top end of the game, Long came from Everton with real plaudits.

It looks like Everton's youth policy is as bad as ours? :blue:

My Everton mate said at the time that many Everton fans were a bit miffed that Chris Long had been released. He came on as a sub not long after he signed for us, so clearly he was seen as a potential first team player, but he was bloody awful, way out of his depth, and then he just got worse.
