You wouldn't quite say it was an excellent performance but the improvement continues and we were miles better than Dundee which is obviously all that matters on the day. It could and should have been even comfier but we can all breathe a bit easier now going into the break.
Plenty work still to do though, not least on the flanks. We signed ATS so Tait doesn't have to play on his weaker side yet he's still the best option there and as for Cadden...deary, deary me. Frear did well again and deserves plenty credit for plugging away but against anyone remotely competent he's not going to cut it as wing-back. That's arguably less than half the league mind.
Bigi is fast becoming one of the first names on the sheet, very pleased for him to get his goal too.
Beers all round!
Wasn't there so can't comment on the performance but that is a massive win for us and one we needed to kick on from last week and get our first three points of the season. Danny Johnson netting a goal a game in the last three matches is just what we need and pleased to see Bigi on the scoresheet too.
It's just a pity we've got a bloody international break now so that the national team can play a friendly match when we didn't really need our momentum interrupted.
Dunno, I can enjoy the positive feeling into the break quite happily for a wee while. We return to Hearts at home, Aberdeen away, Hearts away, Kilmarnock away, a run which could very easily see us continue to improve yet still get knocked out a cup and dragged back into the bottom two.
It sounds very much like Dundee lost the game rather than us winning it but I'm not complaining. Good to get our first league win under our belt. Bigi seems to have found his feet at last and is contributing to the collective effort. Well done. COYW!
By no way did Dundee lose the game - we won that out the park! Bigi's gotta be a first pick ... and I think Robbo acknowledged that. The trio at the back (Hartley-Aldred-McHugh), are now a tight unit who all seem to know how to cover each others backs. When you think we still have Dunney and Tanner to come back into the fold, a 2 week break ain't too bad IMO.
Me too; the Dee fans acknowledged it, as did the pundits - Steven Thompson thought that we played some good football, as we did - eventually - against Rangers. We're quite a bit more than 'hammer - throwing scum'; I don't need to tell you which club's forum that reference appeared on.
It wasn't Dundee.
