Well that was unexpected but absolutely wonderful to see. Danny Johnson has proved again that he is our best striking option and needs to start every week. Two well taken goals to set us on our way and great to see Turnbull chip in for the third.
A much needed victory after our last outing and as ever, it's absolutely brilliant to beat that mob. Get it right up every single one of their dour mushed followers in that south stand today and likewise to their cheerleaders in the media.
Johnson was absolutely dismal following his previous sharp spell, he was rightly dropped - but he clearly has a scoring instinct which the other three, even at their 'best' don't. He's a selfish wee git as well, as witnessed by the first goal, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, especially if he gets away with it like today.
A very unexpected but welcome win yesterday. All in all a great team peformance with Grimshaw leading the way. Johnson looked sharp up front and looked like a striker with an eye for goal. No fears about Gillespie in goal as he'll step up to the mark while Carson is incapacitated. Turnbull continues to impress.
Can I put a word in for Bigi? He must have covered every inch of Fir Park - when Johnson had a second - half chance to repeat his first goal it was Bigi who was trying his damndest to get up beside him. He's sometimes still prone to dwell on the ball at the wrong time, but he put in a shift.
Don’t think there was one failure in the team yesterday. we played with the high tempo and intensity that we used against them in the two cup competitions last season, something the Dons seem able to cope with against us . Also it might just be my opinion but we also seemed to play the ball on the ground more creating more chances. Energy levels seemed a whole lot better and we even looked fitter onwards and upwards hopefully COYW
