Maybe someone at the club can point out to Warney why others think that
Why is he letting others opinion which has some truth in it get to him, concentrate on getting them 3 points and staying in this league
I think the pressure is getting to him.
The frustrating thing is that, over the season, his negative tactics have cost us.
I love him. We all love him, but he needs to start being a tad braver.
Watched the highlights - alarmingly, Reading still had several reasonable chances to score after our late equaliser. Just wish that Warney would try to sort out that type of problem, rather than being distracted by the comments of our opponents (which are part of the routine "mind games" that go with the job)
Still fail to see where negative tactics comments are coming from.
We are creating at least 12 chance's every game and most games many more, we have even got up to 26 chances in a game. Doesn't look negative to me..
Failing to score those chances is the problem..
Why don’t we wait til the end of the season to judge his bravery, it would be monumental to just stay in this league and his bravery has been in show many times this season when collecting points late on in games going for it. All he has tried to do is ‘stay in games’ up to 70 mins. Many managers quoted this before Warne including warnock and Evans. It’s easier to be brave when your a goal or two down because it’s a no lose situation. If we had gone into games this season brave from the start I guarantee we would have seen a lot more Brentford away type results coming up on the vidiprinter at 5 o’clock on a Saturday. He is obviously still learning at management and at this level is credible how we are doing. He deserves our full support from the terraces for us to stand any chance. UTFM!!
My opinion is very similar to Grumpy's Cayton. After the heavy gubbing at Brentford on the opening day, Warne has played very negatively away from home. Now I have no problem with that against the big hitters as it is totally sensible but I think there are 12 maybe 15 teams in this league who are either only slightly better than us or not better at all. We SHOULD have been more positive in these games are I am convinced we would have got more points if we had been. Far too often we have played sides out of form, on poor runs or with mediocre quality and shown them too much respect. Our failure to win even a single game away from home is a clear indictment of this. At home we have targeted the games against the mediocre sides and played more positively and it has yielded fruit on occasion.
This is by no means a call for the manager's removal, just an observation. Burton Albion survived their first season at this level with a lower budget than we have now and they did so by showing no respect to their bigger opponents and picking up wins when not expected as well as a few beatings.
We went more positive at Bolton and it didn't work with the resources we have
Same in the latter part of the Leeds game with the resources we had.
So we don't really have the tools in the locker to play with two strikers. This is even more apparent now with injuries. We can't play Yates so we've go no options anymore and yes we should have signed a striker.
Cayton makes a fair point that we've been positive, poured forward and created loads of chances in many games but it's the quality of the finishing that's let us down a bit.
This isn't just Smudger as the midfield has missed loads too
I actually thought we were the most positive side for the first 30 minutes on Saturday. In fact, we missed the only real chance in that period, when Forde, who had got into a great position, failed to connect. They scored on 31 minutes almost completely against the run.
