Getafe CF
Animal likes a minnow conquering the odds and giving the big boys a bloody nose and I've kept my eyes on the progress of Getafe in Spain's La Liga for quite a few months now .
Getafe average crowds of 10k and little wonder given they are situated in Madrid and competing with Real and Athletico .
At this moment in time they occupy 4th spot in La Liga and the final Champions League place .
Still a fair bit of the season left to play in Spain because they don't complete their fixtures until well in to May .
I suppose this is the equivalent of AFC Bournemouth sitting in 4th spot in the PL .
If they do grab that 4th spot it will be a massive achievement for such a small club with extremely noisy neighbours to say the least .

That's some achievement and good luck to them, A few years ago , I was on holiday in Portugal , and a team just over the border in Spain , Huelva got promoted to La Liga , I tried to get tickets for their match v Athletico Madrid , no chance , they had a similar season to ours in the Premiership , eventually getting relegated , but playing the Big Boys at their packed out Stadium , gave that part of Southern Spain a huge boost,
good to see underdogs do well ,
